The Cavern

This years New block busting film of 2016.

Or. so the Directors wish.

The New Thriller-Gore Film ever since the start, was promised to be aflop. Although, that must of been the directors aim? after all with its oh so stereotypical story line, terrible acting and poor uses of CGI. Surley the film was meant to be a spoof?

STORYLINE

32 year old Leon Hughes, once the greatest Diver of all time, Is called back from his 3 years retirement for one last mission. To explore a newley discovered cavern.

3 years back on the northern coast of Australia Leon and is partner , and best friend, Dan set out on their usual dive. Exploring the great barrier reef and extracting samples of coraland plant life within the reef. However, on this fateful day a mysterious shadow stalked the two, tracing each and every single  move. Until, within seconds as the two were about to board their boat, a Bull Shark attacked Pulling down Dan in a desperite struggle.

Now. After all this time, when a marine company wishies to explore a newly untouched cavern will they only wish to hire the best. So when Hughes is called up will he accept a new start,to face his fears. With a new partner? Or, will he just sit back, and dwoen his sorrows alone.

Critism?

From looking at the first movie poster relase towards the film it can already be suggested without even reading the title its going to be another cliche shark thriller and just by reading the summary it honestly just sounds like another rip off of Deep blue sea (1999) or The reef (2011). Just another one trick story line production.

The Poster already suggest a quest to the deep, somewhere which only sharks survive and partol. However within this poster is one lone shark with only the outline of its body being revealed to the audience. This allows questions and conclusions to be asked, straying from 'is the shark alone?', 'What type of shark is it?' and of course 'Is it dangerous?'. The light pastle like blues contrasting with the darkness within this cavern suggest a sense of curiousity and calmness. Even though theres a shark within the full view of the audience, the post doesnt scream death or a sinnister blood thirsty preditor. It presents a calm peaceful setting, as if the viewer was watching a documentery.

But how can this be classed a s thriller with such a calm neatral setting? the post really strays away from what the story promises the auidence crossing serveral wores and paths just leading to one confusing plot.

But in a way could this be what the producers want? They want to promise you a quaint peaceful documentry like film with all happy stories and natural calm settings. Until. Bam! you witness what really lies within the film itself. An everyday slasher shark film with blood, gore and loss.
